Foyaland

Today Old Moss is alone, all his friends are changed into stone . Beaucoup de travail en ce moment pour un projet d'anim et un éventuel projet de déménagement en cours. Je dois faire un break dans mon carnet de voyage . C'est bête, mais ça prends du temps de tout scanner, tout nettoyer et tout traduire...et j'ai pas eu assez de vacances pour faire tout ça!( d'ailleurs je me ferais bien des vraies vacances farniente sous les cocotiers pour une  fois ^^ ) Heureusement j'ai d'autres petits trucs à sortir de mes cartons, comme par exemple cette petite aquarelle réalisée il y a quelques temps. Une recherche pour un personnage caverneux... ou une réminiscence de troll islandais? :)

Fewer tourists compared to blue lagoon . Everyone meets here after a hard day(we even saw people from hùsavik's boat, which is not so close from here) . Temperature is around 4°C and everyone runs to throw themselves in the water. Beware of not charging someone because with all the mists, we don't see a thing. We could stay here for hours. only drawback : it stinks rotten eggs because of sulfur in the water .  Dont be scared! that's not the pictures of the bath . that's on the other side of the mountain and that's smell horrible! :) N'ayez pas peur, ce ne sont pas les photos des bains, mais de ce qui provoque cette terrible odeur de l'autre coté de la montagne :)

  the fishing village of hùsavik is famous for its whale watching expeditions. in the past, people were hunting whales here but now they use the fishing boats for tourists to see them closer. It's better for this animals and for the fishermen's wallet ! " Give me a buoy for me to come back  swimming ! " Three unforgettable  hours on the sea with many near death experiences just to see  a blue whale jet before falling unconscious. we were very lucky!

an endless road, lunar landscapes and sheeps…ideal to sleep in the car … thought I before facing local animals weird behaviors! -BEWARE OF SHEEP! -Yes, but Which one?     "So kids, look on your right ,look on your left.. and now we have a car on sight , we go in the midlle of the big black lane. the aim is to see who'll stay the most. Your father was good at that game…"

 Après presque deux semaines sans connexion internet (dur!), Je reviens avec un bout de résumé de mon voyage en Islande. Nous voici donc dans le Snaefellsnes . Le Volcan du coin est réputé pour être l'entrée du "Voyage au centre de la Terre", de Jules Verne.  After nearly two weeks without internet, i come back with more stuff of my Iceland trip. So we are in front of  Snaefellsnes . the volcano here is supposed to be the entrance to "Voyage au centre de la Terre", from Jules Verne.  Malheureusement, on n'est pas vraiment équipés pour aller voir le glacier de plus près. On décide donc de se ballader entre les anciennes coulées de lave du coté des falaises. La région fait le bonheur des ornithologues, on y croise beaucoup d'oiseaux de mer... Unfortunately we don't have the stuff to climb over the glacier. So we choose to strawl between the elder lava fields , near the cliff. plenty of seabirds screaming and defecating all along the cliff. it'...

Oasis in the Lava fields, Blue Lagoon can be seen from far away. The Spa is fed by the hot water (38-40°C) from the  power station nearby . Sea water is rich of minerals, algaes, and Silice ( everyone cover his face with this white jelly which is supposed to be good for skin.)  We all look a bit silly...

It's the wrong season for sunset pictures, sun decided never to go to bed... "Oh, it's 3 AM...  Do you think we should go to sleep now?"

  REYKJAVIK (bay of smokes) a quiet and explosive capital city ( especially during saturday night's runtur). You can find here museums, bookshop cafe , an ultra-modern church and beautiful paintings on walls a bit everywhere...   HOW TO RECOGNIZE A TOURIST IN ICELAND ? Tourist wears lots of hot clothes, never eats on terrace (it's 8°C outside when sun shines) That's why everyone directly speaks to us in english.  

  Between Keflavik's airport and Reykjavik, there are violets flowers everywhere. they protects soils from erosion, but destroy all the local flora. champ de lave et champ de lupins maritimes lava field & lupins field

Special thanks à notre Ultime Super Héros , qui s'est tappé plus de 4h d'aller/retour pour nous amener à Paris en pleine nuit. Je me devais de citer son dévouement et son courage! (ok, je l'ai un peu mal dessiné , il est mieux en vrai!)   Special Thanks to our ultimate super hero, who drove 4h to go to Paris in the middle of the night! Finally arrived in iceland (fortunately not too much frozen in June). Under the plane,impressive landscapes with Blue Lagoon and field of lava. -2:00 of jet lag with France.

  * 0ops! It was Lille Europe station , not Lille Flandres... the last train for Paris leaving Lille after waiting 1h30 at the wrong station,  It will be quite hard to be at the airport on time! J'ai bien travaillé pendant mes vacances en Islande, je reviens avec un beau carnet de voyage bien rempli , avec des dessins, des photos, de la musique et tout! Je pense partager tous ces souvenirs en diffusant des extraits tous les 2-3 jours (avec plusieurs dessins par jour, y a du taff quand même!) et en entrecoupant avec d'autres petits trucs sympathiques que j'ai à montrer aussi, pour varier ! à Bientôt ! ;p I worked well during my icelandic holidays, i come back with a beautifull travelbook, full of sketches, pictures, music... I'm thinking in sharing all of that with you by publishing excerpts every 2-3 days, with other amazing stuff in between! See you soon! ;p
